We're excited to announce that E-QLT has now advanced to the final round! MIT Solve is dedicated to seeking tech-based solutions for pressing global issues. From a global pool of tech innovators, E-QLT has been recognized by MIT Solve to address financial inclusion and social protection, paving the way for a more equitable society.
MIT Solve is a global initiative that seeks innovative technology-based solutions for pressing global challenges. It is an honor to be recognized as a finalist and semifinalist for our outstanding innovations addressing key societal issues. Among the tech-based innovators worldwide, E-QLT has been selected by MIT Solve for the final round to make a lasting impact on financial inclusion and social protection, paving the way for a more equitable and inclusive society. We're grateful for MIT Solve's recognition of our work.
E-QLT analyzes factors like demography and income to provide insights and strategies for enhanced social protection. Its ability to assess vulnerabilities and reinforce social protection measures has earned it recognition. We've also recently published the E-QLT report, and is now available on our website, aiding policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders. The report offers insights into household vulnerability quantification and social protection scheme effectiveness. We quantified vulnerabilities across health, education, and finance in Maharashtra. The report aligns the Social Protection Score with Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing its significance.
E-QLT was presented to the state governments of Maharashtra and Odisha. These presentations took place at the Mahul Phul: Infinitely Indigenous event in Odisha in May 2023 and a round table organized by YUVA and UNICEF in Maharashtra in February 2023. We also thank them for recognizing E-QLT's contributions to social protection.
Fostering Collaboration and Engagement
Polity Approaches to Cross-sectoral Collaboration and Youth Empowerment
In May, Fields of View and CMHLP (Centre For Mental Health Law And Policy) joined for a four-day workshop focused on advocating for mental health policies, particularly in the context of youth suicide prevention. The event took place at ILS (Indian Law Society) in Pune. We also held interactive sessions at IIHS's City Scripts event, shedding light on urban planning and water security. The City Game unveiled cities' evolution and introduced novel concepts like the Tower of Justice and Time, while Hanigalu allowed water security exploration. Concurrently, Fields of View organized an AFD Group seminar in Colombo, fostering Indo-Pacific conversations through Kattu Kathe sessions, mapping diverse interventions. The workshop emphasized collaborative solutions. Also in May, FoV's Srinidhi presented a talk, 'Youth Engagement in Public Policy' at Samvada's Transitory Tales symposium.
Come June, Fields of View conducted immersive online sessions for Avans University, Netherlands nurturing critical thought and civic participation. At Kupu - A Climate Action Festival, FoV engaged participants, promoting sustainability through City Game and Rubbish sessions. We also facilitated game sessions at The Net Zero Fellowship Workshop hosted by the School of Policy & Governance at IIT Guwahati in June and at IIM Lucknow in early August. The workshops convened up-and-coming political and public leaders from diverse fields, uniting to strategize ways to achieve a Net Zero economy and tackle the complexities of climate change. Confluence2023 in June, a collaborative initiative by Fields of View, Catalyst 2023, and ISDM, united leaders from diverse sectors to tackle complex challenges using our participatory tools and custom-designed workshops.
In mid-August, Fields of View collaborated with IIT Gandhinagar for the 'Foundation Programme Course Workshop,' engaging students in public policy, civic engagement, and sensitization. This workshop went beyond traditional methods, delving into urban planning complexities and societal norms, resulting in imaginative cityscapes like the unconventional Love City, a floating post-apocalyptic city, an introverts' sanctuary, and more. As an extension of IIT Gandhinagar's Leadership Development Initiative, Fields of View also conducted a separate four-hour Game Development Workshop for faculty and PhD students at the institution.
